Q: How do I update my definition files for my virusscan ?

A. For Virusscan V5.21 . Connect to the internet ,Close your browser, When it says "Auto Disconnect" choose "Stay Connected" open your Virusscan Central ,choose 'UPDATE" follow prompts.  If that does not work go McAfee website and manually download the latest support dat file. Save to desktop .Run Program. Click here to start download choose "SuperDat"

Q. My disk defragmenter takes forever. It only goes to 10% then restarts what do I do?

A. This is caused by a running program that makes a call to your hard drive. And thus interrupts the disk defragmenter. To correct this reboot into SAFE MODE (do this by pressing the "F8" key when it says starting Windows 98. You will get a menu choose safe mode. Do your disk defragmenter. When completed restart to regular mode.

Q. My Computer is starting to run slow. What can I do.

A. The most common reason is that your computer is getting maxed on available memory. A symptom is that your hard is constantly being accessed. This can be corrected in one or both ways.

1. You have too many programs running at startup. (AOL Instead Messenger, Webshots, MSN & Yahoo Messenger, Kazaa Media Desktop, etc.) Thus your resources are being taxed. Correct this by Going to Start-Run and type in "MSCONFIG" choose the "Startup" tab. You will get a listing a programs running at startup. Simply uncheck the uneeded programs. (You only need to have Explorer,Systray, and your virusscan running. everything else is optional) Click OK then reboot. If you find that you unchecked something you should not have. Then go back in and recheck that box.
2. Simply Add more memory, another good upgrade add a bigger video card. That will enable you to play more advanced games.

 Q. When I Boot up computer A pop up comes up and says I have a  virus. I ran my virus scanner and will not get rid of it .What do I Do ?? Help !!!

 A. Follow these steps

1. First If you have Windows XP or Windows Me . You must disable System Restore . Do this by going to Start, then Control Panel then System then System Restore Tab . Check Box that Says "Stop Monitoring on All Drives"
2. Next Boot your computer into "Safe Mode" (Press F8 when computer starts or Turn it off while loading Windows, Restart. From Menu choose "safe mode"
3. Run your Virus Scanner (complete test) then Reboot. And re-enable System restore

  Q. I have numerous Window Pop Ups while I am surfing the internet. This is very annoying what do I do !!

  A. Go to www.Download.com and download Adaware by Lavasoft or SpyBot Search & Destroy. Both are free programs and free is always good !! Install and run them
